Hindu Jats

Hindu Jat (जाट), refers to an ethnic group of north-west India who are Hindu by religion. They form the majority of the Jat population. Originally, all Jats were Hindu but some then converted to Islam and Sikhism, as also happened in the case of other castes and clans such as Rajput and Chura. Those who were converted call themselves Jat-Muslims and Sikh Jatt, respectively.
